Meet Our New Marketing Coordinator, Liz!

We’re very excited to introduce the newest member of the Kicks team- Liz Hollinger.

With a background in digital marketing and PR experience, Liz believes that a successful strategy is the right combination of tried-and-true tactics and a willingness to push the envelope. Here’s a little Q&A for a bit of insight into who Liz is- at work and play.

What 3 traits define you?

Persistent – For better or worse, once I set my mind to something it is highly unlikely that I will move on until it is finished/resolved.

Sociable – I’ve always been considered a “people person.” I enjoy meeting new people and socializing with the people that I already know. Once a conversation gets rolling, I can talk for hours.

Helpful – I like to make other people’s lives easier if at all possible. Whether it’s volunteering my time to help with a church function, whipping up some baked goods for a sale, or adding a few tasks to my daily to-do in order to free up someone else’s time, I have just always really valued feeling that I am helpful.

If there was a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?

Probably Blake Lively… I mean she is drop-dead gorgeous… who wouldn’t want her to portray them in a movie??

Where’s your favorite place in the world?

In general – This is probably the most cliche answer ever, but really my favorite place in the world is home. I’ve got my fur babies (all 4 of them), my wine, my reading nook – there’s just no where else that’s cozier or more relaxing than home…

To vacation – it’s a tie between Maya Chan (an all inclusive private beach in Costa Maya that only allows 50 people per day and barrels their own tequila. It’s the best little get away) or New Orleans (I love the history, the nightlife, and the food!)

Where’s your favorite place in Indy?

St. Josephs or Metazoa… Really the answer is anywhere that Andrew (the husband) and I can take Beau (dog) and get a decent beer.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

It’s a tie between playing the piano and speaking French. I was (forever ago) a classically trained singer, so I feel like playing the piano is just a natural pairing that I should be able to do. I also have an obsession with Paris (France in general) and took 3 years of French in high school, so it’d be pretty grand if I could fluently speak the language.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t in Marketing?

I’d probably be a music therapist. I have a musical background and the thought of being able to help people through music seems like a pretty legit way to spend your life.

How do you define success?

As a person, success pretty much boils down to being happy and the ability to financially support the type of life that I want to have. As a professional person, success is when my clients and my team know and trust that I am going to be able to provide solid results and know what I’m talking about. It also doesn’t hurt if they’re OK with me as a human being in general.

As far as marketing goes – I am very results-driven. Success is determined by the data the analytics show. If the numbers are going up, I’m on the right track, if they’re tracking down, well then clearly I need to make some adjustments.
