Facebook has very recently, within the last few weeks, updated its policies and procedures surrounding ad creation and management. Domain verification is now an additional step that each business must complete in order to continue with running ads.

Verifying your business’s domain in Business Manager is a way to help Facebook know that you are connected to your business. Domain verification establishes which Business Manager account has the authority to configure and prioritize the 8 available conversion events for a given domain.

*Domain verification is mission-critical in order to run ads properly

Steps to Verify Your Domain in Business Manager

Begin by going to Domains in the Brand Safety Section of Business Settings

  • Click Add to add a new domain
  • Enter in the root domain without and prefixes (For example, enter website.com, not www.website.com nor https://website.com)
  • Click Add
  • Select Add a meta-tag to your HTML source code
    • Copy the meta-tag you see on your Business Manager screen
    • Open your website’s homepage HTML source
    • Paste the meta-tag into the .... section of the HTML code, and publish the page. (If Kicks if your host, please issued this code to Kicks Support
    • Click Verify Domain on your Business Manager screen. You should see a green check confirming the verification was successful.

Once your domain has been verified, you can remove the meta-tags, it won’t impact your verification status.
